Building Skills for the TOEFL (Second Edition) is a complete course of study for students preparing to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

This edition of the Course Book contains five sections. The first three of these correspond to the format of the actual TOEFL, Section 1, Listening Comprehension, Section 2. Structure and Written Expression, Section 3. Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary The exercises in these sections are interspersed with short TOEFL practice exercises with set time limits to simulate examination conditions.

To meet the requirements of the new Test of Written English, an additional section has been included, Section 4, The Test of Written English with step-by-step analysis and practice of TWE-type writing questions.

There are also two complete TOEFL Practice Tests in Section 5, including Test of Written English questions. and TOEFL Tactics pages, which provide useful hints on developing the required skills.

The Tapescript and Key are published in a separate volume together with answer sheets for the TOEFL Practice Tests. All the listening material is available on the four cassettes.
